RESOLUTION NO.24 - Continued in and for the erection and establishment of this great undertaking is the name of and for all tribes of the American Indians of this Nation; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we, the members of the National Congress of American Indians, desire to highly commend the foresight of the citizens of South Dakota and the Sioux Nation for the establishment of this fine and unique undertaking and to pay special tribute to the genius, courage and foresight of its sculptor, Korezak Zolkowsky, who has dedicated his life to this great and remarkable undertaking; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the state and federal governments be urged to provide the financial and necessary for the completion of this project, and to secure by whatever methods necessary, the permanent establishment of the said lands as a national memorial to the American Indian race. Mr. Madrano moved to adopt Resolution No.24. Motion was seconded by Mr. Hilliard. Motion was agreed to.
