RESOLUTION NO. 33 WHEREAS, at the National Congress of American Indians' convention of 1949, there was received the complaint of the councilmen of the Mescalero Apache Tribe concerning interference by Superintendent John Crow with the functioning of the tribal council; and WHEREAS, a similar complaint has been received this year from the chairman of the tribal council of the Omaha tribe concerning the conduct of Superintendent Harold E. Bruce; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the President is authorized to take appropriate action in behalf of the NCAI to prevent improper interference with tribal democracy in these and similar cases and to appoint a special committee for said purpose. Mr. Madrano moved that Resolution No. 33 be adopted. Motion was seconded by Mr. Friedlander. Motion was agreed to unanimously.
