Discription of Property
Lots No. 1.2.3.22-23 & 24 of a plan of Lots situated on College Hill formerly belonging to F & H.W. Hardin [[?]] and subsequently owned by Gerome,[[?]] & Co. Nashville Tenn, more specifically described as property located on the Cor of Guthrie and Castleman Streets, fronting 140 feet on Guthrie Street and running back on Castleman Street. 260. feet, with a two Story Brick Building [[?]]40 by 160 feet - in very bad condition - annex to the Brick Building is a large fabric shed also stalls for Horses, on the north and East & West portion of the fence

History
This property was sold by the owners Groome, Cavert & Co. on the 15th day of July 1867.To the following named Commissioners of the so-called Confederate Government,[[?]] [[?]]Morgan, Gen'l W G. Hardiss Neil & [[?]], for the sum of $12,000 of which $9,000 was paid in confederate bonds-
Groome, Cavert & Co made this sale voluntarily of their own free will and conscience. The named object of the purchase was to apply the property to use, in the manufacturing of guns and ammunition, for the Rebel Government, Groome, Cavert & Co. being aware of this fact in line of the sale_ The purchase and sale was made prior to the occupancy of the State of the Union Forces_The property is confiscable and now held as a forfeiture to the United States Government.
