Memorandum of agreement made this day the 28th of Decr. 1865 between Benj. Williams of the one part and Alex. Staples of the other part Witnesseth=
That the said Williams is to lease to the said Staples Fifteen acres of ground on the south side of the Holston River and on its banks for the year 1866_Williams also agrees to make a good & secure fence for which Staples is to pay him Thirty Dollars in two payments, the one to be made on the 10 of March and the other on the 10 of June 1866=  Staples is to have the entire Crop=
