METAL FOILS
silver foil--use "cutch" silver or non-adhesive no. 4
- called paillons
- do not use ordinary silver and gold foils usedby decorators

to apply-first put coat of enamel on copper
-paillon pierced with tiny holes so as to allow air to escape from under the foil when fused to enamel.  holes may be eliminated on very tiny paillons.  holes to be pierced at about 100 per sq. in.
-adhere paillon to enamel with gum trag. and dab with soft rag to absorb moisture

CAUTION:  don't overfire.  paillon burns out.  stone of with carborundum stick

To oxidie metal:
-dissolve lump of [[?]] of sulphur about dime size into water.  Put silver into this solution till black.  With fine pumice powder & water, rub off black oxide on the higher surfaces & polish piece-
