I know from my own experience of but a few years ago and I am sure that the loss to Mother is irreparable as you know that Josephine was her favorite. I think that the loss of the whole family would not have been so great a sorrow for her. However, I hope that you will have corage [[courage]] and take this sad blow philosophically as I had to do.

My heart and sympathy is with you all.

Please let me have a few lines from you soon so I may hear more 


particulars - I told Mr Barnhorn [[strikethrough]]you had[[/strikethrough]]of the sad news and he expressed great sorrow. You probably know that he knew her well.

I start for Spain tomorrow and will write home from there - Mrs Munroe at 7 Rue Scribe will forward my letters from here.
