Dear Josephine 

I must thank you for the many letters from Frank you have sent me and I am very grateful to hear that you and the little folks are getting on so well. I generally send your letters from Frank to Waltham which seems to give great pleasure to Julia and Mabel. I returned yesterday from Philadelphia where I underwent another three or four days torture but the Doctor tells me that I am getting on fine but of course he says my case will take a long time treatment possibly a whole year and that he wants me to be in Philadelphia three or four days every month. So you see where I am and what I am expected to do. I may get as far as Cincinnati this autumn but I am expected not to get away too far from Philadelphia. Charlie was with me in Philadelphia and came on with me to Gloucester. Charlie had his machine
