I have no idea what the Dorris-Heyman store is like, except that they're going to have a sort of tea and a promotion of my new designs for Bigelow carpet. This means that the Bigelow Company underwrites my trip to Arizona and back plus the hotel and other expenses, so it means it makes it feasible. I'm not quite financially able to run around the country for no reason except pleasure and this happily combines everything, a little business and I know the great pleasure of seeing you and your mother. Now I realize that your mother has not been at all well the last year and any additional strain should be avoided. So be completely frank. Margery will come to Phoenix anyway for our conference and she could stay at the hotel while I came out to see you Friday afternoon and stay through Saturday and Sunday. But Sunday afternoon I must go back into town to get my presentation in order and that would mean I would be at the hotel with Margery through Monday and Tuesday morning anyway. I'm getting a Tuesday noon jet back to New York because I have a Wednesday meeting that also is important. This being a business woman, plus practicing designer, isn't all as easy and simple as it would seem. But I grab at every opportunity to see my most treasured friends and you and your mother are among those. Besides, I must see little Eve again.

Tell your mother, from me, that I received her charming wire and I look forward to getting there. I will have my cases of textiles sent on ahead to the Bigelow man representative, and the boys could pick up the bags with me, if that is alright, sometime Friday afternoon. I'll wire you the exact time I will be there, and if they could bring a station wagon that would be great, because I have two wooden crates. It's possible for one man to handle a crate, they're not awfully big, but still they protect my ensemble cards and my textiles.
