Dear Iovanna:

I'm just fascinated with the plans. They are very colorful and very un-earthy. I like the idea of the lightness of form in contrast to the desert. I take it the festival will be in the desert with all its wonderful color. Before I forget, I'm putting in a strip of color which I think would be awfully good to play up in the buildings and contents, particularly the sagey green and the coral and yellow; much more so than lots of other colors which might make it a sort of confusing color presentation.

However, I do forget the absolute color of the flowers at that time of year. I know you have marvelous mixtures of color and maybe you think of it in terms of desert wildflowers. It seems to me the botanical building would just be marvelous with some of your exotic new plants that are hidden away in the desert.

Anyway, much to my disappointment, Pat had to go off for the funeral, so he left last Friday for Washington and we hadn't quite finished discussing the plans, so I'll get them off to you just as soon as he gets back. In the meantime I'll send this little envelope back and the rest will follow very soon. He gets home from Abilene either Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
