Her name was Marion Bogle and "Bogie" became a cherished figure in my life. She is now Mrs. Allan Sproul. Allan later became President of the New York Federal Reserve Bank. 

As for the other incident ...

Mother insisted, as I have said, that all her children take piano lessons and in due course each of us was placed in the hands of a music teacher, Miss Freddie Lee. Practicing of course was sheer drudgery, a chore, and the worst of those to which I was assigned.

At that time, the social organization in our town called itself the Saturday Afternoon Club. One day, it was announced that the entertainment at the next meeting would be a musical program provided by Miss Lee's piano students.
