Dear Mr. Wilding:

Thank you very much for sending us a copy of the article 'Eco-catastrophe' announcing the slide show 'Rape of a Nation', which deals with a matter so terribly vital to us all.

Which leads me further to ask a favor of you: Robert Rauschenberg, the artist (who is represented by this gallery), is presently involved in doing a poster in conjunction with the sit-in that is being organized by, among others, Lawrence Rockefeller, on campuses across the country later this spring. My Rauschenberg will need various photographic material for this, and I was wondering if it would be possible for you to gather together (at our expense, of course) photographs taken from the slides and whatever other sources, that illustrate the various forms of pollution with which the show was concerned. This is perhaps a very tall order, but we'd be enormously grateful for any prints, etc. that you could provide.

Unfortunately, we haven't much time, therefore I would very much appreciate knowing as soon as possible whether or not this will be possible.

I look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,

Barbara Wool
