The Secretary of War directs that, you order Major A.L. Howe, Chaplain, R. L. Chittenden, and Private Francis Logsdon, forty third (43d) Ohio Vols. to report without delay to Brig'r Gen'l W. Swayne, Asst Commissioner &c. at Montgomery, Alabama.  This provided that the regiment is not under orders to be mustered out of service.
