I have the honor to apply for a position as Teacher in the Freedman's Schools or a Commission in the 
Twenty-fifth Army Corps.

I have served twenty three months in "Battery C, 2d Penna. Vet. Artillery", and was discharged on the 7th inst. in accordance with "Special Order, No 390, War Dept. A.G.O. July 22-1865" (Washington D.C)

There was a slight error in the Order, as you will perceive by this communication.
