Should you consider Such colonization Scheme objectionable, as applied to all the insurgent States, we respectfully request that you do us the great favor to call the attention of the Secretary of war to this Subject, and to the request hereby made by the 34" Reg. U.S.C.T. that Such arrangement be made in our behalf. Had we authority now to present to our men Such an object, a large Sum of money would be Saved ready against the day of Settlement. As some of our men are in the last year of their term of enlistment we are anxious that Some plan for the future Should be matured as soon as possible.

Col Marple, Surgeon Hanson and others of this Regiment have carefully examined the above and it is at their Suggestion and with their approval that I forward it for your distingushed consideration.

I have the honor to be
Most respectfully
Your obedient Servant,
H.H. Moore,
Chaplain 34 Reg U.S.C.T.
