I have the honor to apply for a position in Your Dept.

I have been an Officer in the Service ever Since the war broke out & have a few day Since been mustered=out as Lieut Col 2" Pa Cav. as a Supernumerary Officer. I have been a prisoner of War for a considerable time. & from Starvation while prisoner & from exposure while in the Service I have become very much debilitated. My circumstances compells me to Seek a position and to apply to You. which I hope You will grant. If necessary I can furnish any refference that is required. as to my abilities
