Dear Hassel:

My thanks for your note in reference to your painting of mine and its use. I have had much and very recent unpleasant experience with these arrogant museum character in both Washington and San Francisco, and have learned first-hand what one has to cope with in try to keep them honest. My only hope is that in spite of what they do with the work their irresponsibility will ultimately cause them to be seen for what they are. They force one to trust that the meaning of the work will survive their contemptible and treacherous games.

Our best wishes.

Yours,
