Dec. 22/51

Dear Dorothy + Eddie
Sorry to have missed you in N.Y. but things got a bit out of hand and I left before I intended to. If, however, I am yet regarded with favor you will be the first persons I will see when I return.

My trip turned into a boredom relieved only by a little kid with a toy telephone. He would wind it, let it ring, remove the receiver + say, "hello, how are you, goodbye." The first time he set it off was about 1:30 in the morning. The effect on the carful of sleeping soldiers was something to be remembered.

Have a good Christmas with best wishes from Clyff.
