Young Artists Exhibit at Coe

One of the paintings to be featured in the new exhibition opening Thursday at Coe College is "Flower Collage," painted by Joe Brainard. The title of the show is "Some Younger American Painters and Sculptors". Continuing through April 9 in the Sinclair galleries, the exhibition is sponsored by the American Federation of Arts.


An exhibition entitled "Some Younger American Painters and Sculptors" opened Thursday at the Sinclair galleries of Coe College.

Included in the show will be sampling of young painters and sculptors who represent a variety of recent historical influences and illustrate the use of new methods and media of expression.

Among the works in the exhibit are the painted pictorial images of Darby Bannard and Larry Zox, the abstract expressionist approach of Sam Gilliam and Murray Reich, structural painting by Peter Gourfain and antiforms by Richard Tuttle.

Coe galleries are open at no charge during regular hours: Weekdays from 3 to 4:30; Saturdays from 9 till noon and Sundays from 2 to 4:30.
