Dear Mrs. Burroughs:

Charles White, whom we represent, has asked me to answer your very nice letter requesting that he attend and Artists dinner and submit the Pen and Ink drawing which would be made into a plate.

Under separate cover we have sent to the Bennett's a very beautiful color lithograph called "Blues" for the auction for the DuSable Museum. Mr. White is making a contribution to the auction of this lithograph.

It is not within any possibility of Mr. White sending you a Pen and Ink drawing which would be made into plates for distribution or sale.

The idea is a good one but an artist of Mr. White's stature does not permit him to be able to submit Pen and Ink drawings to be made into plates. I am sorry, but I do know that Charles is with you all the way and has made his contribution to the auction.

By the way, we are sending the print to the Bennett's this week. I do hope that it is an extremely successful auction and dinner.

Sincerely,
