DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC & FINE ARTS

October 16, 1970

Mr. Robert Reid
112 West 45th Street
New York, New York

Dear Mr. Reid:

Your name has been given me by the Minneapolis Institute of Art where they have organized and exhibited Contemporary Black Artists.

I am writing this letter to ask if you are interested to make a loan of one or two of your fine paintings periodically for a period of two months during our calendar year. We now have a beautifully remodeled library where we have some excellent wall space. As we are a predominantly Negro College, naturally our students will be interested in works done by their contemporaries, although we are not limiting our students to see works done by Afro-American artists.

With this letter, we are extending our invitation for you to show your works at our college library. If you can accept our invitation, we will pay for shipping costs. Please let me hear from you at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely yours,

Yasue Sakaoka
