Previous solo shows were at Grand Central Moderns (1965-66-67); Baruch College (NYC 1968); CUNY (1968); Lehigh University, Pa. (1969); Benson Gallery, Bridgehampton, N. J.; Drew University, N. J. (1970); and Alonzo Gallery, N. Y. C. (1970-72). He has appeared in group shows at Buchnell University, Pa. (1965); Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, Pa. (1965); New York City Center (1959); and Bernard College, N. Y. C. (1965). He was in a three-man show sponsored by the USIS which toured museums in France (Paris, Brest, Cannes, etc.) in 1972. In 1971 he was included in "Black Artist In America" at the Whitney Museum, N. Y. C.; "Black Artist: Two Generations" at the Newark Museum and "Black American Artist/71" which toured Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin. UCLA also selected him to show in their 1966-67 "Negro in American Art" exhibit. He has been in numerous other group shows here and abroad.

Born in Atlanta in 1924, Reid studied at Clark college, Art Institute of Chicago and Parson School of Design. He is represented in the collection of Newark Museum, University Penn., Notre Dame, Cornell, Syracuse University, Lehigh University, Laura Musser Museum (Iowa), Bethlehem Penn. Civic Center, Myers College (Birmingham), CUNY and Drew University. He is currently teaching at Rhode Island School of Design.
