Bennett 602 12th Avenue NE Aberdeen, South Dakota Dear Bob: I have your letters of June 12th and previous correspondence relative to the convention. Complying with your suggestion, I am appointing Amanda Finley as membership chairman and you may include her name as such on the program. Your suggestion that Mrs. Roe Cloud be the keynote speaker is well received and you may place her name on the program as such. I will make it a point to invite Hon. Oscar L. Chapman, Dillon Myer and other members of the Minnesota delegation as you suggested. While we all have a very high regard for Rev. Daisuke Kitagawa, it is thought that perhaps it would be better to omit this address for the present. I agree that we should invite Senator Humphreys to the convention and include him as a speaker on the program. I have noted the comments in your letter of June 12th to Ruth Bronson with respect to panel discussions, open forum and suggestions regarding the Resolutions Committee and Nominating Committee. Your views and comments are pretty well along my line of thinking on the matters. The Governors' Interstate Council will hold their meeting on June 23rd, the day preceeding our convention. Many of our members are also members of that group. Governor Youngdahl assures us that he will be able to appear on our program on the 24th. I am leaving June 20th to attend the State Conference of Indiana called by Governor Bonner in Helena, Montana and will address the conference on the 22nd and speak at the banquet that evening. I will be back in Oklahoma the 25th. With best personal regards, I am Sincerely N. B. Johnson NBJ:lj
