Gentlemen: Information has been received at this office, that the Claim of Dick Stringfield (decd) late of Co I. 37th Regt US.C.T. was settled by Treas Certificate No 376.945 for $291.37. payable to Venus Stringfield, widow of decd, and sent to you January 16th 1868. Colonel: In reply to your communication of the 26th inst, I have the honor to state that the Report of the operations of the Claims Division under my charge for the month of April 1868 was forwarded on the 1st inst and a duplicate Report was forwarded on the 22nd inst. I enclose herewith a triplicate Report. I regret any much that very delay has been occasioned by my Report not having been received, but in justice to myself, I would here state, that I have never failed to forward my Report on the 1st of the month.
