In compliance with the request contained in your letter of the 4th inst. - received at this department to day - and in conformity with the recommendation of the Commissioner of Public Buildings and Grounds, permission is hereby granted the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned lands to occupy the triangular space bounded by North Carolina Avenue, 5th Street East and Square No. 820 for school purposes; subject to the approval or disapproval of Congress.
