Members of the Legislature (which is in session here now) have, in public speeches spoken slanduously, of northern teachers of the colored people  They have expressed their utter disapprobation of the benevolent efforts of Freedmens Aid Societies and kindred institutions  They declare that no appropriations shall be made by the state, for school purposes for colored people.
