Briggs - at Rehne's also. All boxing pictures. Amazing in execution & light effects - & fine. But I didn't get awfully excited over them. They have made a tremendous stir - almost all sold out- As craftsmanship superb - & I guess they are fine in other ways - but I just didn't feel it - Or else by that time I was peeved with Rehn - he looked all worn out- & he made me feel forlorn & weary - & I'd gone in feeling like a spring chicken - Cannot explain just how I felt with him- A very "adequate' Speiber too - a nice little Arnold Blank - I grow sick of the paintings I see- They all smack of somebody else - I keep going back to that Picasso "La Coiffure" - that we all saw together - it was like fresh air - & the other - the girl with the fan - & the little Renoir baby - like fresh air - That is the trouble with Marsh - he has no time for fresh air in his pictures - let the air in - & the people live - Well I
