FEB-12
Dear Jake
These pictures Im sending you were taken in the fifties across the street from the Fulton St. Park where we had the art exhibitions. It was an African restaurant and the owner was a Muslim nomad Belak Abdurahman. I see him now & then. I have his address. The exhibition at Ramapo College went well and the catalog could of been better, but they didnt have much money and so forth. Anyway it still was a nice opening - champagne & food & all of that. I did an interview with Rory Beardan which will be aired on the 26 of Feb. ½ HOUR.
The tape from your program I will send under separate cover. Its to bad you didnt get to hear it - but Terry Dintonpass heard it and was delighted.
I am working on some monoprints for an exhibition in April on a jazz theme - so thats [[strikethrough]] off [[/strikethrough]] occupying me [[strikethrough]] k [[/strikethrough]] now. At Ramapo College they [[strikethrough]] had [[/strikethrough]] have a whole gallery of Haitian Paintings donated by Seldon Robinson who lives down the road from the college.
I havent met him yet - but Ive had that book for years now "Conversations with Artists" in which he talks with you. Anyway just a note to say hi- Cynthia sends her love to Gwen and if you want more catalogs just let me know - good hunting -- Vince (SMITH) OVER
