It is significant that the FWOMAJE artists received and mastered the same European training as many of their counterparts who continued to work in that tradition. Yet, FWOMAJE artists returned to Martinique and created a new style based on research and experimentation of indigenous historical precedents. 
Moreover, they generously shared their research results with young Martiniquan artists. In this innovative way they enhanced the quality of life for citizens of the island and the world. Through their public commissions and other works, they
