Mr. Richard Artschwager Hudson,
P.O. Box 12
New York, 12534

Dear Mr. Artschwager,

I am writing on behalf of the Governors of Skowhegan to invite you to be a member of Skowhegan's Faculty during the summer or 2002.

We are proposing a three week residency: from June 15, through July 5th, 2002. This residency would involve your making studio visits with two days a week, and giving an informal slide lecture. Resident Faculty Artists are provided with a lakeside cottage, and a private studio, and are welcomed to bring family or guests during their stay. The honorarium is $5,000.

The Skowhegan campus has changed a bit since your last visit with us in 1985, but it remains a unique hybrid of artists' residency and school. For the 65 students the interaction with faculty and their peers, stimulates an intense period of growth, and provides a bridge to professional life. There are no formal classes. Students work independently. The 2002 Faculty is still formation but to date it. includes: Geoff Hendricks, Marina Abramovic, Inigo Manglano-Ovalle, and Rob Storr.

I am sending some additional information about the Program under separate cover, and will call next week, if I may. In the mean time, thank you for considering this invitation. Please don't hesitate to call if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Linda Earle
