My Dear Dorothea:-

Enclosed is copy of letter and a list of the Standard Oil Subsidiary Companies, [[strikethrough]] the letters [[/strikethrough]] to whom, I am mailing you under separate cover, same as the last batch. There is, you will see, a total of 32 letters, and you can either mail them from there or send them back to me and I will mail them from here.

Ethel received your letter with checks for both of us, which was very kind of you. They will help us to put the place in order. The men were to come Wednesday to plant the shrubs which had already arrived, but it rained, so that the work had to be put off till next Monday when I hope it will be finished. The old roadbed in front of the house did not grow much grass, so we covered it all with manure & had it plowed over again which makes the place quite upset for the present.

Last Wednes. we were also to visit the Munsons at Pleasantville & spend Thursd. with them, but at the last moment Mr. M. got sick & the visit had to be put off.

Last Sat. the Smithtown Horse Show was held at Smitht. at which I hoped to get a blue or red ribbon with one of my horses, but it turned out to be their unlucky day, for they both did poorly. The jumping on the whole was very good & in one class splendid  Thos. the coachman & I rode over & Ethel & three of the children went
