My dear Miss McCausland: Day before yesterday I was on the point of writing to you to send me two or three more clippings of the Marin article. But refrained not wishing to bother you ~ And here come the clippings! Many thanks once more. Marin likes the article greatly. He usually has no use for what is written about him.-

Thanks too for the clipping "A View of American Art." Some day we'll talk about that. Painting is part of the French tradition. I doubt whether painting will ever become part of ours.- The French are a people. There are not many Americans.
