planned with things - my paintings not unpacked yet. as the ceiling must be done before they can be put up.

I am going on with managing to take away the last traces of stiffness in my foot. There is a newspaper story here that I am at daggers drawn with the Library Trustees - that my paintings don't fit, are pure invention.

I shall be here for several months - at this Hotel. Do write when you can -

What a time it takes for letters to reach - Yours of April 14 has just come, and you had not yet got mine written on landing at N.Y., or perhaps from the steamer - & Emily on the 16th had not yet heard from me except by call. 

I am delighted that the Scarborough ordeal is at an end. I can't quite make out whether you must go
