Tesfaye Tessema
Ethiopian born printmaker, master painter, muralist, and photographer, represents an evocative and stimulating evolution of centuries of traditional Ethiopian iconography. He attended the School of Fine Art in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and received his M.F.A. from Howard University. He has exhibited in numerous New York venues including the African American Institute, the United Nations, Contemporary African Gallery, 450 Broadway Gallery, the Schomberg Center, Guggenheim Museum and the Cochi Triennal International Print Show, Cochi, Japan.

Lois Mailou Jones
(1905-1998) Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she studied at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts, Académie Julian, Paris. In 1945, Ms. Jones received her A.B. (magna cum laude) from Howard. She joined the faculty at Howard in 1930 in the Department of Art having a 47 year tenure. She retired in 1977. She worked in a variety of styles during her prolific and very productive life and her work embraced geographical, social and cultural variety. 

Frank Smith
A retired professor of painting and art education at Howard University (1970-2001) he received his M.F.A. from there in 1972. Exhibiting in the metropolitan area and on the international stage he was a participant in the 2nd World Festival of Black Art and Culture. Smith has received many honors and awards for work in the Arts in Embassies program and several public commissions. He has been a member of AfriCobra since 1973. 

Kathleen Funches Varnell
An Exhibits Specialist (Graphics) with the Office of Exhibits Central, Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC who received her M.F.A. in 2001 from Howard University. She has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions which include the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson, MS; the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library in Austin, TX; and Honorary Artist of the Tougaloo College Humanities Festival in Jackson, MS where she conducted workshops and gallery talks. 

Elizabeth Wold
Born in Ethiopia, Elizabeth attended the School of Fine Arts in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; the Baltimore City Community College; and received her M.F.A. from Howard University in 1993. She currently works as a freelancer in Multimedia, Print and Web Design. Having taught collage as an art form she is progressively moving into the field of computer graphics and digital art. She exhibited at the African Museum of Art in Washington, DC in an exhibit entitled "Ethiopian Passages: Dialogues in the Diaspora".
