FEDERAL ART PROJECT

TO ALL ARTISTS OF THE EASEL DIVISION 

IMPORTANT NOTICE 

The Federal Art Project has moved to 110 King Street. The Easel Division is located on the 6th floor. Please bring your next assignment to this address, and your time card to Mr. Scarano at this address, and send all communications to us here.

REMEMBER THE PRESS

The Exhibition Department is very active in sending out exhibitions that receive critical notice from the Press. Therefore, it is to every project artists' advantage to send in good work on each assignment.

HAVE YOU THOUGHT

That there might be very interesting material in Staten Island - such as - Fishing Villages, Beaches, Farms, Railroad Yards, Ship Yards. The neighborhood of Tottenville and Great Kills is full of interesting material.

Of the material that might exist on 11th Avenue, (Death Avenue) and Railroad Yards at 60th Street and 11th Avenue.

Of the Astoria Waterfront, the Harlem Ship Canal connecting the East with the Hudson River, of the bridges, coal and lumber yards, power plants and boat yards. 

OFF PROJECT EXHIBITIONS

If you are going to have an exhibition of your work outside of the Project exhibitions, will you please notify this office and the Department of Information, we may be able to be of some assistance in publicity releases.

DELIVERY OF ASSIGNMENTS TO EASEL DIVISION OFFICE

All easel assignments should be delivered to the Easel Division office during the morning (until 1:00 P.M.) If you require an extension of time, you must ask for this time in person and take your next assignment when due.

All excess canvas on your paintings should be cut off and all tacks in your stretchers driven all the way in before delivery.

All water colors, gouaches and pastels when matted must have backing, which is given to you by the Supply Department, to protect them from damage.

All of your old brushes can be utilized by the Art Teaching Division in the Children's classes. These brushes can be brought into this office.

All artists notified to be at meetings on scheduled time must be punctual or else the time will be deducted from salary checks.

EXHIBITIONS

An exhibition of 200 photographs, work of the Photographic Division of the New York City Federal Art Project, opened September 20th and will continue until October 11th at the Federal Art Gallery, 225 West 57th Street, N. Y. C.

There are a number of very interesting neighborhood project exhibitions - this list you will find on the bulletin board in the Easel Division.
