TO THE ARTISTS OF THE EASEL DIVISION:

Hereafter the following regulations will apply to all work delivered in the Easel Division.

1 - No wet canvases will be accepted by the office. If for any reason a painting is not sufficiently dry for delivery on the day which it is due, the artist may call at the Office on that day to receive an extension of time on his delivery and receive his next assignment.

2 - All excess canvases must be cut from the stretchers and tacks must be completely driven into the wood. Tacks are to be driven only into the stretcher edge. Under no circumstances are tacks to be driven in the back of the stretcher.

3- All paintings must be signed by the artists, but large signatures and signatures in conspicuous colors are to be avoided.

4 - Oil paintings must be made on the canvas provided by the Supply Department of the Federal Art Project and no paintings will be accepted on cheaper or substitute material supplied by the artist unless specific arrangements have been made in advance at the office. Tempera panels must be painted on materials supplied by the Project. No work of any kind will be accepted on academy boards or composition panels of any description.

5 -Before delivering a painting, artists are asked to print legibly their name and a title for the painting in pencil on the stretcher of oils and on the paper back of paintings in other media.
