I begin to wonder why [[crossed-out]] the land [[/crossed-out]] it took me more than 3 months to get started on so lovely a theme when it was all around from the start. I do my work on the big table in the living room. The sun pours in thru the windows + keeps me warm, + I can look out at the garden (flower, of course) for relaxation every 10 minutes much as I would watch the fish in 45 T. The l.r. is arranged NW now: [[hand drawing of living room with an "N" and an arrow pointing to the bottom of the page]]
x = work area
* = eat area
So I have light at night to read + write + paint by + when I have my meals I [[crossed-out]] have two views. Also, with the fire going I keep fairly warm where I sit to paint. Next year I'll have to rearrange the studio to make it more cozy. It's too large + spacious + open, I think. Maybe 45 T. is ideal after all because of its smallness!
Zimmy left unexpectedly early this week as his mother took a turn for the worse + had to be taken inhosp. (So I didn't get my haircut + will have to arrive shaggy in N.Y.) (I don't think I'll go to Betty) Also - Jackie left 2 days ago - her mother also took a bad turn, I hear.
During the windstorm the other day (ha! it's been cold + windy + rainy for 5 days!) I cut down a long branch of rose buds from the [[crossed-out]] center bush (bush indeed! I mean I cut one of its 2 branches) + they bloomed indoors - the most beautiful roses you ever did see - the color is intense - deep coral + apricot with white edges - [[crossed-out]] much deeper than if they'd bloomed outdoors + gotten bleached by the sun. Wish I could send them to you.
