WELCOME TO
THE BROOKLYN MUSEUM ART SCHOOL!
FALL 1973

CONTRACT

Enclosed please find your contract. Be sure to sign both pages before returning them in the mail, to my attention. Do make sure your contract is accurate before you sign, and make a list of your first class meetings for ready reference. A Xerox of your signed contract will be left in your mailbox in the Art School Office.

IDENTIFICATION

In order to have a photo ID card made, please call the Museum security officer, Mr. Mamora, at NE 8-5000, to make an appointment to have your photo taken. When you come to have your picture taken, come to the Art School Office so arrangements can be made with the Personnal Office of the Museum for you to pick up your ID card to enter your social security number and sign it. You will then take the card with you to the security office, so that your photo can be laminated to it.

Your ID card is required to enter the Museum on Mondays and Tuesdays and in the evenings when the Museum is closed to the public. Please always carry your card with you, to avoid delay and detention by the guards. With your card, you can obtain a 20% discount at the Gallery Shop of this Museum and free entry to other museums in New York. You can also park free behind the Museum.

If you have not already submitted a resume, please do so to keep your file complete and current. If you have any ehibits or newspaper articles about you and your work, we would appreciate having a copy for your bulletin board and files.

OPEN HOUSE

On Sunday, September 9, from 1 to 4 p.m., the Art School will play host to potential students and visitors during our annual open house. It will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until 4 p.m.

All instructors are expected to be present to talk to those interested in their field and to answer questions on how they conduct their class and their approach to their art. This is an excellent opportunity to increase your class and to attract more students to the school. Tables will be set up at which instructors may talk to visitors. The office will be open for registration.

FALL FACULTY SHOW

From August 29 through September 30, there will be a fall faculty show (it has been scheduled so that it will be up when students come to register for the fall). Please submit one to three works in the medium you will be teaching. This will be a good chance to attract summer students to your fall class, since the show will be on during the last weeks of the summer term. Enclosed please find six exhibition cards (two for each work). Please fill them out, attaching one to each work and returning one to me, with your contract, so that labels may be prepared in time for the show. These cards must be received 10 days before the show opens, to submit insurance values to the Museum Registrar. DEADLINE: FRIDAY, AUGUST 24 - LAST DAY FOR WORK TO BE SUBMITTED!
