the Castle bridge, that shows very clearly the marks of age, to sketch the picturesque veiw of the Castle on the Avon.

Right opposite the Castle gateway, at a little tea garden on the corner of Mill Street (a row of little Elizabethan houses) we enjoyed a quiet lunch Then hired a punt and made another sketch of the Castle nearer by.

August 2, 1908.

Sunday afternoon we thought it would be nice to take a row on the river, but all the boats being let, we took a trolley ride to the Parade at Leamington. We were just in time to hear the people addressed by the Mayor, a priest and some other men. It was rather a discouraging audience, for (besides a few immediately around the platform) there were busy groups gossiping and sparking. After a few minutes, standing under the hot sun, we turned around and strolled off to walk through the public gardens and took the trolley to a street leading toward Guy's Cliff.
