My Darling Girl

I am going to write this letter so that it will get to Texas about the same time you will, and so I am writing it almost before you leave Newburgh. I hope you make good connections and that you get the train at Jersey City.

I hardly realize that you have gone away and it won't come to me with full force till tomorrow about the time I would be going out to the Lake,

of the year I am always pretty blue. I suppose this exam is the same as others but in spite of the season and the fact that I will not see you again for months I am still happy in loving you.

I am going down in the Highlands this morning to sketch Old Breakneck as it will probably be my last sketch before going to the city. I have not been or at least stayed in New York for two years now and I suppose everything will seem so new and changed.

I hope you arrive safely and don't get car sick
With all love
Gifford
