opinion I care the most for think that my Hudson River work is far better so I think I will stick to it pretty closely.  I enclose a reproduction out of the Catalogue of the National Academy Exhibit. It isn't a very good photograph of the picture because it isn't clear enough, but it will give you some idea it. Do you know I think you will make a splendid wife because you love outdoors and I think you know pretty well how nature looks and then you have feelings about things and wont flatter. If you don't like a thing you'll say. I am so glad we both love the country. Suppose you loved

the country and I loved the city. Or vice versa. Wouldn't it be inconvenient and uncomfortable. I would love to live in the country most of the year and have a fine studio connected with the house and that's what I'm going to do as soon as I can. Don't you think it will be fine when were married and don't you think we will live happily together. I think we are just suited to each other. I will see you now in a little over a month and a half because I expect to start about the middle of February and I am just living for it now and
