about so many things. How you would look when I saw you again. And what you thought about these long long days and if you loved me just as much. In fact, all sorts of questions came to my mind and you seemed very near to me.

I spoke to you about being scared before starting my lecture last night. Well the feeling last night was nothing compared to the one I had out to the Lake that night we asked your father and mother about an engagement. Thats the hardest thing I ever did. I think And yet I don't know why it should have been so hard, except that I was just scared that's all. Anyway I shall never forget it as long as I live. Do you remember how happy we both were when it was all over.

Good bye Sweetheart I will write you when I get to the Lake

With all my love Gifford
