Mrs. Lee Krasner Pollock
Springs, Long Island
New York

Dear Lee:

I hope you are now long over your illness, working and once more back to your normal hectic life. More power to you!

Lee, you may not have heard that this summer we are enlarging our gallery space and plan to open our fall season (October 1st) with a knock-out show of ten painters (Abstract Expressionist). Of course I will want to feature Jackson's work. I could very well borrow good examples but I would prefer to have two top paintings from you, especially since so many tales have gotten back from abroad that only mediocre Pollocks are now being shown and offered. This might easily damage his position and I should like to have two very strong answers against this senseless talk. I hope you'll consent and think about perhaps including one for possible sale at that time.

There is ample time but I want to do an extensive catalogue reproducing each painting included and we'll need lots of time for this.

With all good wishes and a wonderful summer to you,

As ever,
Sidney
