My dear father -

It was nice to get a letter from you again - to know you were well enough to write yourself.

I will find out all about the trip to Richmond, &, back - as you wish & let you know. You'd not be well enough to take that trip - nor will the weather be settled enough, before May.

You have had a long, hard time of sickness - &, it seems to me, a good idea for you to get part way

&, to go up, to help move you!

I suppose they are tired out - &, you'd better be nursed now. The change will help you pick up faster- Any change. Syracuse - is part way- I am only sorry- you could not have been here.

Each time you've gone to Rochester, you've been taken ill.

The best thing to do - is to get well as soon as possible.

Have just got word - that the man so long expected - who's been ill - will be here inside of two weeks- I hope so- I've waited so long!

The air in S. is some salt - so, a change -
