are about 120 feet apart. The entrance to the Ranger farm house and yard is directly opposite the front of the Clark home. The housekeeping in the Ranger home was very bad; so bad that it would not be at all likely that a man of Mr. Ranger's tastes and environment would remain there over night. 

The Clarks are sure that Mr. Henry ranger was not at the Ranger homestead in January, 1916, nor at any time after the visit which they both remember very distinctly and about which there was a great deal of talk on the part of the Rangers and the other neighbors. At the time of that visit the Rangers were counting upon and expected Mr. Ranger, the deceased, to leave them the bulk of his money. They especially expected a son of Clara Ranger to receive a considerable share of the estate.
