a book (maybe I told Jon) on Character + conduct of artists: from the time not. We do appear to be rather mad. This book is trying to prove that we are just like anyone else, trying to change the portrait of the artist the public have always had, that we are something apart, + do as we like. Not as other men in fact. Am afraid they don't do it. They end the book by saying 'We end this book by saying as that great + wonderful artist Turner said "Art is a rhum go"
But I doubt if normal people do the things, -the funny things artists do. But there again it does depend upon what one calls madness. For me anyone who leads a life [[claring?]] material goods, is as mad
