"I have found in working for our lectures that it is helpful to see that all that constitutes a church is the thinking of its members and that the healing character of a Christian Science service or a lecture is brought out only as each member does his part in establishing God's presence and omniaction. We have in a lecture not a lot of people gathered together with many minds, but the Sons of God with one mind. Indeed, the whole lecture must be and is the unfoldment and declaration of the one and only mind.

Nothing happens in any community that is comparable to the importance and potency of Christian Science. When Science started in your town that was the day of Bethlehem for that place. The Christ - the omnipotent Christ had been born or unfolded and it constitutes and operates forever as a law of good to everything that happens there. The Services and lectures are the one irrestible attraction - there is no other; therefore it is possible for each member to act and think from the standpoint of absolute Christ dominion. You are the law to the city, to the whole city, to the government, to all that calls itself the community. This of course, does not mean an egotistical mental attitude - it means merely that poise and confident mental state that characterizes the Christ consciousness under all circumstances. Richard J. Davis, C.S.
