I received your dear letter telling that the hams had arrived. It was forwarded here. Bennett said to tell you we appreciate your thought and love, wanting us to share it with you but he said he feared by the time he returned West he couldn't use a knife to carve it, he would have to sharpen up a chisel!! You can cut it in half and only boil part of it, or use slices for frying.

We sent you a little jar of mountain honey yesterday. Bennett said it tasted like it was made from dog-wood blossoms — we hope you like it.

Please, dearest Mummy, do not cross bridges, and try to know that what blesses one, blesses all. If it blesses Emmie to have a home, which I am sure it will, you will be blessed in some way, too. Perhaps by seeing a beautiful change in Max's thinking. Expect good - look for it, and in proportion to what you think will it be manifested in your own experience.
