She claims in her petition to have lost all her stock which is false. She said yesterday she had never lost but two cows with their calves, and 3 hogs.
Mrs. H claims that her life has been threatened by Negroes. I ascertained yesterday from her that in a quarrel between two Negroes she called upon a white man to interfere, whereupon one of the colored men said he would "have his revenge" on her for interfering. She was asked if she thought there was danger from him. She said "no" "not at all". "He was only in a passion at the time". At one other time a Negro had an axe belonging to her. She sent a colored girl for it. The Negro refused to give it up. The girl told him Mrs H would make him give it up. He said if she did
