Luton Forest near Warrenton
At the request of Lieut McNulty I hereby state that Charles Withers and Willis Jackson with their family (all coloured) have been living on this plantation since March under contract till the end of the year. Preparing [[strikethrough]] making [[/strikethrough]] to make a crop of corn on shares. They seem to be perfectly inoffensive persons and are unusually industrious. If they continue as they have proceeded there far I will have only satisfaction with them to testify as my experience in this kind of farming, to all whom it may concern.
