Below St. Francis protects not only the birds but all kinds of creatures that have taken refuge in his robes.

On his left we move through the Golden Gateway represented by the Alcoa Building. The office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, architects for the buildings and for Hyatt on Union Square, is located here. Two angels bear a banner announcing this fact.

Further to the left is the financial center with its office towers. The tallest of all, the Bank of America Headquarters Building, rises above the fog.

Uninhibited by these tall buildings Snoopy lounges on his dog house in the street below. Superman keeps the few rays of sun from his eyes while the Flying Chicken wings about her business above.

Moving up the steps to the right we pass Fisherman's Wharf and find ourselves in Aquatic Park. Above is Ghiradelli Square announced by the Clock Tower Building and the fountain with Mermaids made by Ruth and Mae Lee in 1966. Other landmarks of the area are the Cannery and Cost +.
